If you have shared/embedded your chart online, anyone can see the data behind every bar, column, line or pie slice in your chart simply by hovering it with mouse. However, some charts allow you to display the values right inside the chart:
❶ Select your chart (one click) and expand the Chart properties tab in the right sidebar
❷ Enable the Show values option.
This could be useful if you plan on downloading your interactive chart as a static image (where hovering the chart won't display any data tooltips) or print it.
You can also choose to display the values outside of the bars/columns. This feature only works when Values is enabled and will change the position of values shown in the chart.
Note that sometimes the values are not showing although the Show values option is turned on - this means that there’s not enough space to display the values inside or on top of the bars/columns. In such cases you need to increase the chart size:
In single chart/map layout this can be done by increasing the width of the whole infographic:
For pie charts the option for showing values is called "Show callouts". In addition to the value entered in your pie chart's data table, you can also display the category name next to the value by enabling the Callout name option in the right sidebar. Alternatively, all pie chart types can automatically calculate percentage values from the actual data entered inside the data table and display them on your pie chart segments. This can be done by enabling the Callout percentage option in the right sidebar under the Chart properties tab.
