There are three different background options you can use:
- a solid color
- an image
- a shape for charts, maps, and other elements
To give the background a solid color:
❶ From your project editor, click the Settings tab in the right sidebar.
❷ Click the colored square under "Project background" and choose a color from the available color set, enter a specific hex color code or use the color chooser.
To add an image to the background:
❶ First, look up a keyword or upload the image into your graphics library. To do so, click the Add graphics button in the left sidebar or simply drag and drop the image from your computer directly into the editor. It will automatically upload the image to the graphics library.
❷ Drag and drop the image inside your project.
❸ Change its size to fit your canvas.
❹ Click the Send to back button in the quick menu to move the image to the background layer.
❺ Adjust the image transparency by using the slider in the right sidebar.
To add a shape background to a chart, map, and other elements:
❶ Click the Add shape button in the left sidebar, choose a shape, and drag and drop it inside the editor.
❷ Resize it by drag and dropping the corners of the shape.
❸ Click the Send to back button in the quick menu to move the shape to the background layer.
❹ Adjust the shape transparency by using the slider in the right sidebar.
Note: If you are creating a chart or map project type, the only option to change background color is by toggling to a different theme design. For more information, you can check our article on Changing project theme.
