There are many ways you can edit entire text objects or a selection of words in a text object. Simply select the text and a settings panel will appear on the right side of your editor.
Use this panel to edit the element size, rotation, transparency, font type and size, color, style, alignment, line height and letter spacing. You can also add numbered lists or bullet points, as well as hyperlink text.
Resize and rotate text objects
❶ Select the text object
❷ To resize it, you can either drag and drop the corners of the text object in the editor or change the number of pixels for the text object width and height in the settings tab.
❸ Rotate the object by entering a degree of rotation from 1° to 360° (if you want to be super precise) in the settings panel. You can also adjust rotation with your keyboard controls, in the editor: click, hold and move the object to the right or left.
Adjust text transparency by moving the slider in the settings panel or by inserting a percentage of transparency from 1 to 100.
The lower the number, the less transparent the text will be. The higher the percentage, the more transparent the text will be.
Change font and font size
❶ Select the text you wish to edit
❷ Click on the Font drop-down menu to select one of the theme fonts or a selection of other fonts.
❸ Click on the Font size drop-down menu to select the size in pixels. The smallest being 9px, and the largest 150px. Changes will automatically apply to the selected text.
Change font color
❶ Select the text you wish to change color for
❷ Click the colored square to choose one from a set of theme colors or by inserting a hexadecimal code in the custom color field. You can also use the color chooser.
❶ Select the text field you wish to bold, underline or italicize and use the settings panel to apply these styles.
❷ Select the text field and use the horizontal alignment options: left, centered, right, justify to align text.
❸ Use one of the Vertical alignment options to place text within a text object: at the top, center, or bottom.
Line height and letter spacing
Line height and letter spacing are easy ways to change your text design and most importantly- improve text readability and emphasis.
❶ Select the text object.
❷ Use the line height and letter spacing sliders in the settings panel to adjust text spacing.
Ordered and unordered bullet lists
Bullet points are great to draw the reader's attention to important facts and information in your text. You can use Ordered bullet points, which are numbered, or you can use Unordered bullet points, which use the bullet ( • ) symbol.
❶ Select the text you wish to order
❷ Choose one of the List types in the settings panel.
❸ The bullet will apply to each paragraph.
❹ To remove a bullet from an empty space, simply go in-line and click Enter.
With hyperlinks, you can link:
- a URL
- a web-based file
- an email address (mailto)
Here is how:
❶ Select the text you wish to hyperlink
❷ Click the Add link option in the settings panel and enter a URL link in the pop-up box. Enter http:// for the hyperlink to work. To set up an email link, replace "http://" with "mailto:".For example mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hyperlinks will be visible and underlined when the viewer hovers over text. When clicked, a new tab or window will open automatically.
